PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home security system enabling an inhabitant to obtain detailed information on the inside/outside of his/her house from an outgoing destination and also to enable the inhabitant being away from home to identify a visitor and to confirm a business. SOLUTION: The home security system is provided with a communication equipment 105 provided with a monitoring camera 102, a highly-efficient moving image encoder 103 for highly efficiently encoding a photographed moving image and a call incoming/originating controller 104 for transmitting the moving image by a low bit rate to a communication terminal 106 having a call-incoming. The system is provided with a controller 101 for controlling the equipment 105 and a portable terminal 106 for communicating with the equipment 105 through a base station 107 and a communication line 108. Thus, an inhabitant can obtain detailed information on the inside/outside of his/her house at an outgoing destination, can identify a visitor and confirm its business.
