The stick consists of a vertical shaft (2) with a handle (1) at its upper end and a pivot (4) at its lower end for an angled section which acts as an obstacle for the person using the stick, forcing him to lift his foot over it and stimulate a proper gait. The hinged lower section is 20 - 30 cm long and 2 - 3 cm thick, and it can have a reflective or fluorescent covering (6) to make it easier to see in conditions of poor lighting. Magnets (5) on the main shaft and lower section allow the latter to be held in the folded position when not in use.
