SOLUTION: When an energy-saving key of an operation display part 7 is operated or when the standby mode continues for a period longer than the specific time, network facsimile equipment FX outputs a signal SC1 from a system control part 1 to an energy-saving control part 13 to inform a local area network LU of the energy-saving mode transition and the energy-saving mode is entered. Electronic mail acquiring operation is carried out even in the energy-saving mode and when an electronic mail is received, a CPU 21 outputs a return instruction signal SSt to the energy-saving control part 13. The input of the return instruction signal SSt is handled as an energy-saving mode reset event. If various events occur in the energy-saving mode, the energy- saving control part 13 turns on a main power source PA2 and outputs a signal SC2 giving a notice of the energy-saving resetting factor to the system control part 1.</p>
