<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an efficient operation of a network by selectively connecting a user side device connected by a permanent virtual connection path to any of a plurality of specific connection destinations and multiplying a plurality of layer 2 links with one path in a layer 2 link handing device and its path connection method. SOLUTION: The layer 2 link handing device, that is connected to a user side device via an ATM switch 1-12 with a permanent virtual connection path PVC and connected to a plurality of specific connection destinations via the ATM switch 1-12 by a permanent virtual connection path or a switching type connection path, is provided with a means that locates one path of a connection request destination from layer 2 link information sent from the user side device at a layer 2 link connection request and that sets a layer 2 link of the permanent virtual connection path PVC of the user side device to the specific connection destination path. Furthermore, a label is given to the layer 2 link to attain multiplexing of layer 2 links.</p> |
