PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high output electric double-layer capacitor and electrode materials for the capacitor. SOLUTION: This electric double-layer capacitor is provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and nonaqueous electrolytic solution, and the positive electrode and/or the negative electrode are constituted of polarized electrodes with carbonaceous materials as main components. In this case, the carbonaceous materials are swept from +1.25 V to -1.25 V by a cyclic voltanmetry method in the nonaqueous electrolytic solution, and when the potential sweep rate is 100 mV/s, the differential capacity at +1 V is not less than 70% of the differential capacity at +1 V, when the potential sweeping speed is 10 mV/s. |
