PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium-containing composite oxide improving cycle deterioration and the heating behavior at an electric charge by heating an aqueous solution including ammine cobalt salt and ammine nickel salt, mixing the generated salt including cobalt and nickel with a lithium compound, and baking the mixture in a specific temperature range. SOLUTION: A carbonate of ammine cobalt salt and ammine nickel salt is preferably used to obtain the salt including cobalt and nickel. The salt including cobalt and nickel is mixed with a lithium compound, and the mixture is baked at 600-850 deg.C to obtain a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery expressed by formula: LixCoyNi1-yO2, where 0.95<=x<=1.05, 0.05<=y<=0.50. The salt including cobalt and nickel is generated without adding an alkaline metal and mixed with the lithium compound, then the mixture is baked, therefore a lithium-cobalt-nickel oxide having little impurities such as sodium mingling in a lithium site to cause a crystal defect and containing cobalt and nickel solved homogeneously can be obtained. |
