PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nameplate with characters which enables a sighted person to recognize the contents of information visually and a sight handicapped person by tactile perception by subjecting a plate or cylindrical surface, spherical surface or curved surface to deep engraving of characters, maps, etc., by machining. SOLUTION: This display tactile perception plate is formed by subjecting the plate or cylindrical surface, spherical surface or curved surface consisting of metals, timber, plastics, ceramics, glass, nonmetals, etc., to deep engraving of the characters, maps, likenesses and other illustrations by machining such that the information may be transmitted visually to the sighted person and by tactile perception to the sight handicapped person. The means for obtaining the deep engraving is most adequately a method by machining and particularly when the hard metal is deeply threedimensionally engraved, an NC milling machine or machining center is adequately used. If the deeply engraved grooves are coated with a luminous paint, the escape guide plate for emergency in the event of power supply interruption may be obtained. The paint in the groove bottoms are not easily peeled in spite of the act of tactile perception.
