PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer recordable/re-writable phase transition optical recording medium excellent in both C/N and jitter and capable of practically recording. SOLUTION: In this optical recording medium for multilayer recording, the information can be recorded, erased or reproduced by irradiating a recording layer with light and the information can be recorded/erased by the phase transition between the amorphous phase and the crystal phase. When the transmittance of a recording part is defined as Tr, that of an erasing part as Th and that of a region where a phase transition recording mark is not recorded as Tu, the following inequalities are satisfied. When Tr<Te, Tr<Tu<Te, preferably Tr>=30% and when Tr<Te, Tr<Tu<Te, preferably Te>=30%. |
