PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a simple change to a measuring unit with a different measuring function without rewriting a controlling part for a measuring means. SOLUTION: This portable measuring instrument comprises a measuring unit 10 and a common unit 2 constructed by splitting a single case thereinto. The common unit 2 is provided with a common means 3 comprising a function part, a display 6, an interface 7, and a controlling part 8. The measuring unit 10 is provided with an OTDR 11 and a memory 12 programmed so that the OTDR 11 performs measurement on the basis of a command from the common means 3 and the controlling part 8 processes the measurement data. The common unit 2 has a bare connector 9 on a cross section 6b. The measuring unit 10 has a bare connector 14 no a cross section 13a. Peripheral portions of the cross sections 6b, 13a are mutually matched to couple the connectors 9, 14, so that the data can be transmitted/received between the OTDR 11 and the common means 3. |
