PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reserve recording of a future program with a past program as a reference by reading program information to be newly displayed from a program information retaining means in accordance with an instruction from a program selecting means and displaying the information. SOLUTION: This device is constituted so as to enable a user to watch program information by operating a remote controller while looking at a displayed screen composed by a screen composing means 107. The signal of this remote controller is received by a remote controller receiving means 106 and outputted. A program selecting means 105 outputs the signal from the remote controller on a program information display means 104 as instructions for changing a displayed program to, e.g. the next program, a program just before present program, etc., changing a channel, selecting a program, etc. The means 104 receiving this instruction reads information on a program to be newly displayed from a program information retaining means 103 in accordance with this instruction and displays the information. The user can select a program by referring to the program information retained in the means 103 in this way.
