PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate relative positioning and to obtain superior electrical and mechanical characteristics by boring a hole, into which an electrode of a Gunn diode projecting from a mount is inserted in a substrate and soldering a land formed at the periphery to the electrode. SOLUTION: The opening part of a ceramic cylinder part 6 at the periphery of a Gunn diode element 5 is sealed with a metallic lid 1 connected to the element 5 by a gold wire lead to obtain one electrode. A hole, into which the cylinder part 6 is inserted, is bored in a substrate 7, and a conductor land 3 is formed at its periphery and soldered to the periphery of the metal lid 1 to mount the Gunn diode element on the Gunn diode mount 8. Thus, the cylinder part 6 as the electrode of the element 5 is covered with the hole of the substrate 7 to accurately and easily position the element 5, a resonator or the like. Consequently, variance in electrical characteristics is suppressed, the need for an adhesive is eliminated by soldering to prevent dielectric loss due to the adhesive, and the mechanical strength is increased to obtain superior shock resistance.
