DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING ELECTRONIC PROGRAM TABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electronic program table display device by which programs are classified by program genre and displayed with the whole programs to be broadcasted as an object by constituting a program table through the use of re-constituted program genre classification program information and displaying the program table by program genre on a monitor screen. SOLUTION: A program genre classification program information constituting part 18 retrieves the program genre from individual program information of the respective programs, which is stored in a program information storage part 14, and classifies the programs by program genre. The whole programs belonging to the program genres are aligned by program start time concerning each program genre and recorded in a program genre classification program information recording part 15. A program table layout part 19 selects one kind of program genre classification program information from the part 15 and arranges it to the proper position of a program table display area memory part 20. Program table display is indicated to a program table display part 21 and the part 21 displays the program table in accordance with the contents of the part 20.
