PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a course guide finish point and a destination together with streets, even before a course guide is completed and to assist traveling until the destination, even after the course guide has been completed. SOLUTION: A both-point display streets map of such scale as displays both current position and destination, while comprising streets is displayed on a display a little before reaching a guide finish point (a point before the guide finish point by a specified distance, or after passing the last course change point that is voice-guided). As a vehicle approaches the destination, the both- point display street map is changed to the one with a larger scale. For example, if the scale of the first both-point display streets map is 1600 m (1/160,000), it is switched to 800 m scale, 400 m scale, 200 m scale, 100 m scale, and so on, as approaching the destination. |
