PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and a mechanism for card forcible ejection at a low cost, which is small-sized by enabling it to forcibly eject a card, which dispensing with a new mechanism and a new component. SOLUTION: Moving bodies 10 and 21, which move together with a card 50 so as to take the card in a card reader from a card insertion slot by a card conveying means, are provided with card engagement members 22 and 100 which can abut against the card; if the card stays in the card insertion slot, the moving bodies 10 and 21 are moved inwardly to move the card engagement members 22 and 100 to a positions where they can abut against the card and then the moving bodies 10 and 21 are moved to the card insertion slot side to made to engage the card engagement members 22 and 10 with the inner end surface of the card from the inner side of the card reader, thereby ejecting the card.
