PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical branching/coupling device capable of inexpensively and simply enhancing the coupling precision between the optical fiber of an optical fiber aligning part and the core layer of an optical mixing part. SOLUTION: An optical mixing part 28 is formed of the laminated body in which a transmissible medium 20 consisting of a core layer 16 and a clad layer 18 is laminated, the same laminated body as this laminated body is cut in the laminating direction, and incident side and exiting side optical fiber aligning parts 14, 32 are formed. When these are placed on a positioning plate, the position of the core layer 16 of the optical mixing part 28 matches with that of the core layer 16 of respective optical fiber aligning parts 14, 32. Through holes are formed in the core layer 16 of respective optical fiber aligning parts 14, 32, since optical fibers 12, 34 are inserted into the through holes, the core layer 16 of the optical mixing part 28 is coupled with the optical fibers 12, 34 without shifting. Thus, an optical branching/coupling device 10 having high coupling precision can be inexpensively and simply obtained.
