The system is connected to a patient's heart by electrodes (50,51,59,60) and uses a digital signal processor (36) which is able to convert signals to digital form, detect slopes, corresponding cardiac events and signal parameters. The digital signal processor combines with a microprocessor (30) and a controller (34) to classify the acquired parameters and relate them to predetermined heart conditions.
