<p>A process for producing poly(p-dioxanone) characterized by adding to p-dioxanone 0.002 to 0.005 mol% stannous dioctanoate, which yields white crystals at 0°C, and 0.01 to 0.1 mol% initiator, initiating ring-opening polymerization of the p-dioxanone with stirring at 85 to 105°C, stopping the stirring at the time when the load of stirring has increased by 10 to 60% based on the initial load, and lowering the polymerization temperature to 65 to 85°C to conduct solid-phase polymerization; and a monofilament of the poly(p-dioxanone) obtained by the process.</p> |
