PURPOSE: A method for automatically selecting a trunk line is provided to enable a PBX(Private Branch eXchange) to access a CT-2(the second generation of Cordless Telephone) trunk so that a user can select either a generic trunk or the CT-2 trunk and make an economical telephone call. CONSTITUTION: A central control part detects an origination signal, selects and occupies an arbitrary available trunk, and receives a dial number from the terminal that generated the origination signal(S1). If the terminal user inputs a dial number, the central control part translates the inputted number(S2). Then the central control part checks whether it is economical that the user makes a telephone call to the receiver in a district corresponding to the inputted dial number using the selected trunk, compared with another trunk(S3). In case that it is judged that the selected trunk is not economical, the central control part selects and occupies an economical trunk again(S4).
