The linear module has a carrier rod (2) along the longitudinal axis on which there are running slides. A drive unit between the slides and the rod moves the slides relative to the rod. There is a pneumatically movable piston (16) in a channel (14) inside the carrier rod. A combination of two such modules requires their drive units to be connected by a synchronizing element.
