The reset device has a control unit (10) for controlling the resetting process of a direction indicator. The control unit is connected to a sensor (12) for detecting engine power output, a memory (14) for storing a power output threshold value, a comparator (16) with inputs connected to the sensor and memory and a switch (26) connected to the comparator output. If the power output threshold is exceeded by the sensor signal the current to the indicator is interrupted.
