PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide a contact lens having excellent contamination resistance and good fitting feeling by forming a thin film on a contact lens produced from a polymer containing at least one compound as a composition component and forming the thin film to the film thickness in a specified range. SOLUTION: The lens consists of a lens base material 3 having correcting ability for eyesight and a hydrophilic thin film 2 which permanently keeps the wettability of the surface. The thin film is applied on the surface of the contact lens prepared from a polymer containing at least one compound selected from silicon-containing (meth)acrylate, fluorine-containing (meth)acrylate and fluorine-containing fumarate as the composition component. The film thickness of the thin film is controlled to the range from 0.05 to 5μm. By this constitution, the wettability with water, swelling property and water holding property of the film when the lens is fitted are made uniform, and therefore, the contact lens having excellent contamination resistance and good fitting feeling can be stably obtained.
