PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood screw capable of being lightly screwed, saving consumption of an electric power and preventing the occurrence of wood breakage, flying-off of screw head or driver idling. SOLUTION: Based on constitution that the screw thread 2 of a wood screw 1 is notched at 3 along a screw axis, the notch 3 is formed from a plurality of sides of the wood screw 1 and the shape of the notch 3 is formed in either a U-shape or V-shape. The size of the notch 3 is 10-50%, preferably 15-40%, based on 100% an area per one round of the screw thread.
