The device for forming rifling in the barrel of a weapon comprises a rifling head (1) with a locking pin (3) which can be connected to its shaft (2). An adjusting sleeve (6) surrounds the locking pin and can be moved along the axis (5) of the head. A second sleeve (7) surrounds this and carries mountings (8) for cutter blades (9). These are biased towards the center of the head and have sloping lower surfaces (15) which are supported by corresponding conical surfaces (16 - 19) on the adjusting sleeve, so that when the sleeve is moved axially the cutter blades radially outwards.
