KNEE JOINT DEVICE OF ABOVE KNEE PROSTHESIS

PURPOSE: A knee joint device of an above knee prosthesis for simultaneously performing a flexion action being converted from a bending period to a stretching period and an rotation action being rotated in a specified range from a socket is provided. This device can accelerate a conversion of an artificial leg from a bending period to a stretching period during walking, thereby allowing a wearer of an artificial leg fitted with the joint device to walk similarly to normal person. CONSTITUTION: The knee joint device comprises: an upper knee joint block(32) connected with a socket side at the upper part and formed by an eccentric hinge end at the lower end, a breaker facially adjoined to the hinge end of the upper knee joint block for suppressing the rotation by pressing a hinge axis and a lower knee joint block(36) disposed at the lower part of the upper knee joint block and connected to a shank at its lower part, wherein a rotation means(50) which is facially adjoined to an upper knee joint block(32) to be rotated within a specified range and equipped with a rotation table(52) fixedly constructed at the lower part of a socket; and a tension control hanger of rubber material having an elasticity to convert to the stretching period during the bending period of knee joint. An elastic spring and annular jaw are at specified intervals at the outer lower part in the rotation table.
