PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a variable focal lens barrel where a focus cam and a zoom cam do not interfere with each other. SOLUTION: This lens barrel is provided with an intermediate moving frame 22 supporting a focus lens frame 12 fitted relatively movably in a focus operation ring 30; a zoom cam ring 21 moving a variable power lens group and the moving frame 22 by the rotating operation of a zoom operation ring 20; a focus cam ring 24 integrally turning with the ring 21 in a rotating direction and having the focus cam 26. Then, cam followers formed on the frames 12 and 22 are engaged with the cam 26, and when the frame 22 is moved in the optical axis direction by the rotation of the ring 21, the ring 30 is guided by the cam 26 and relatively moved in the optical axis direction while relatively rotating to the frames 12 and 22, and the cam 26 changes the engaging position with the cam follower of the frame 12.
