PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operability of conducting reception processing of an electronic mail at a low cost. SOLUTION: An automatic pilot control section 403 of the image communication device with an automatic telephone answering function mounted thereon that allows an electronic mail reception control section 406 to periodically receive an electronic mail, discriminates automatic pilot function and an automatic telephone answering function. The automatic pilot control section 403 allows the electronic mail reception control section 406 to receive the electronic mail, only when the automatic pilot function is set and the automatic pilot control section 403 causes the electronic mail reception control section 406 not to receive the electronic mail, when both the automatic pilot function and the automatic telephone answering function are set.
