The cladding for buildings, furniture and the like, is a coated board (2) of wood or similar materials. The edges of the visible side (4) of the board are chamfered (4a-4d) along the whole length of the narrow sides (5-8). When the boards are butted together, they form pocket-shaped joints to be filled with a joint material of a thermoplastic or a vulcanized plastics paste with soft elasticity.
