PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the unintentional clashing of a recording medium inserted into a recording medium insertion port on a flap caused by a flap closing command by detecting the presence of the recording medium in a specified position after the loading means of the recording medium is carried in and operated, and deciding whether to start the closing operation of the flap. SOLUTION: When the closing command of a flap 102 is issued by operating an operation button 103 for a CD player P1 having the flap 102 placed in a closed state, the control means of the CD player P1 rotary-drives the pair of rotary rollers 105a and 105b of a loading mechanism in the direction of inserting a CD into the CD player P1 for specified time. When an optical sensor 1 detects the CD after the passage of specified time, the control means rotary-drives the rotary rollers 105a and 105b further in the inserting direction, and starts the closing operation of the flap 102 after the CD reaches a position not interfering with the closing operation of the flap 102.
