The method consists of the following steps: a) a cylindrical metal blank (2) is inserted into another cylindrical blank (1) with different chemical composition; b) the assembled blanks are subjected to a hot-forming process to produce a gearwheel (11) and, at the same time, to shape the blanks in such a way that a joint based on material and form bonds is produced between them.
