<p>A lightweight concrete building unit having an aerated core and a denser outer shell is capable of being dry stacked without the need for mortar or other similar materials. In addition, the building unit includes top and bottom layers of more dense material that are substantially thicker than the outer shell present at the side walls of the building unit. Each building unit include a plurality of mating features for interlocking with adjacent building units and a plurality of vertical chambers for aligning with vertical chambers of adjacent building units above and below. Non-aerated concrete and rebar can be placed inside the vertically aligned chambers for adding structural integrity to a wall formed from the building units of the present invention.</p> |
