Product from wool-like organic plant, lichen and/or animal tissue parts consists of entire organ tissues or parts in or converted to a pliant, tuft-like, wool-like state. It can be impregnated and/or coated or in particulate, fibrous and/or other forms, optionally fixed in binder(s). It has one or more specified properties, i.e. acts as sorbent, chemical reagent or nutrient or loose substrate or releases substance or particles. Product from wool-like organic tissue parts from plant(s), lichen(s) and/or animal(s), consists of entire organ tissues or at least the parts that are in a pliant, tuft-like, wool-like state in the moist and/or dry state or are converted to this state by artificial means. The term wool-like also indicates other microscopic and/or macroscopic tangled fiber structures and/or tangled fiber bundle structures differing from wool, in which the fibers and/or fiber bundles are branched and/or bound together and have recoil force that resists complete compression under their own weight in the earth's gravitational field. Cotton is expressly excluded. The product can be impregnated and/or coated or in particulate, fibrous and/or other forms, optionally fixed in binder(s). It has one or more specified properties, i.e. (a) sorbs gaseous and/or dissolved organic, inorganic, anionic, cationic, colloidal and/or micellar substance(s); (b) reacts chemically with substances dispersed in aqueous and/or nonaqueous liquids and/or gases or in gaseous and/or dissolved form, optionally under photolytic and/or radiation chemical stimulation, or acts as catalytic accelerator and/or regulator in such reactions; (c) can release substance(s) and/or particle(s) in the form of dispersed, gaseous or dissolved substances, live microbes, viruses, multicellular organisms, cysts, spores, eggs, larvae and other forms of life; and/or (d) acts as substrate containing nutrients and/or loose material, which serves as nutrient base, source of essential substances and growth habitat for viruses and/or monocellular and/or multicellular organisms.
