According to the prior art, copper cooling plates (10) are fixed to the furnace armour plate (15) of metallurgical furnaces by elastically, gas tightly connecting the coolant pipes (13, 14) to said furnace armour plate (15) using compensators (16) and by welding. This prevents the fixture from being destroyed by heat-related alternating bending stresses. According to t he invention, at least one fixed-point fixing element (11) is located near the coolant tubes (13, 14). As a result, at least some of the compensators (16) that are usually provided are no longer required and the costs are reduced.< /SDOAB>
