An industrially advantageous process for the preparation of compounds of general formula (II) (wherein X is chloro or bromo; and the other symbols are each as defined above or salts thereof, characterized by reacting a compound of general formula (I) (wherein Y is sulfur or oxygen; A is an optionally substituted aromatic group; and R and R' are each independently hydrogen, alkyl, or cycloalkyl, or alternatively R and R' may be united to form a ring) or a salt thereof with an N-chloroamide derivative or an N-bromoamide derivative.
