An improved water treatment system for use in a HVAC system including a self-cleaning back-flushing type filtration system, a passive non-chemical water treatment canister, a magnetically induced resonance device, and a magnet positioned along the system piping to provide a non-chemical water treatment system. The improved water treatment system for use with the HVAC system of the present invention requires no external power beyond the inherent hydraulic line pressure from the water supply source. Additionally, the blow-down water exiting the HVAC system can be treated with an electrolytic cell.
