<p>A catalyst for ammoxidation comprising a Sb-Re composite oxide capable of catalyzing an ammoxidation from a hydrocarbon to an unsaturated nitrile such as methacrylonitrile in the presence of a molecular oxygen-containing gas and ammonia; and a method for producing an unsaturated nitrile such as methacrylonitrile from an aliphatic hydrocarbon such as isobutylene and isobutane using the catalyst. Illustratively, an aliphatic hydrocarbon such as isobutylene and isobutane is subjected to a vapor phase catalytic ammoxidation with a molecular oxygen-containing gas and ammonia in the presence of a catalyst for ammoxidation comprising a Sb-Re composite oxide such as SbRe2O6, to thereby produce an unsaturated nitrile such as methacrylonitrile.</p> |
