<p>A direct printing method and apparatus in which a computer image information is converted into a pattern of electrostatic fields, which selectively transport electrically charge toner particles from a particle source (3) toward a black electrode (12) through a printhead structure (5), whereby the charged toner particles are deposited in image configuration on an image receiving substrate (1) caused to move relative to the printhead structure. According to the invention charged toner particles are used that contain a binding resin in the form of a cyclic polyolefin, preferably a copolymer of an alicyclic compound with double blonds, such as cyclohexene and norbornene, and an alpha-olefine, such as ethylene, propylene and butylene.</p> |
