The astronomy telescope stand (10) is provided with a floor-mounted base and a hemispherical hood (12) which rotates about a vertical rotation axis and is provided with an observation opening. The base has a horizontal guide ring (22), provided by a profile with a rectangular cross-section, for reception of at least 3 sets of runners (16,18,20) supporting the hood.
