A feeding auger comprising an elongate stationary angled conveyor(24, 16, 18, 20) essentially concentrically enclosing an auger (28, 30, 50, 52) extending in the same manner and consisting of straight sections and intermediate joints (10), each comprising at least one universal joint (44) for the connection of the adjacent end of the respective straight auger section. The joint (10) and a power- and motion transmitting transmission pin (38, 40, 42) whose middle portion (38) is rotationally supported in a housing (16, 18, 20) enclosing the joint, exhibits a centering function. For this purpose each of the outer pin portions (40, 42) are incorporated in a joint (44), whose geometric centre (46) is positioned at the centre of the surrounding housing section (16, 20).
