ADHESIVE FOR ESTABLISHING A CONTACT BETWEEN A DEVICE AND THE SKIN OF A MAMMAL

An adhesive for establishing a contact between a device and a mammal is disclosed. The adhesive comprises a hydrogel and a plasticizer having the general formula: R<1>-(-O-R<2>-)n-O-R<3>, wherein R<1> is H or a straight or a branched alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, R<2> is, independently, a straight or a branched alkylene group having 2-6 carbon atoms, R3 is a straight or a branched alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, and n is an integer from 2 to 100. The adhesive has in preferred embodiments a longer shelf life compared to traditional adhesives.
