PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by detecting the feeding of cooking material and stopping the display of a cooking plate temperature by a preheat display means when the cooking material is fed during preheating. SOLUTION: Whether the plate temperatureθx is above the temperature set by setting means 8 or not is compared. If the plate temperature is below the set temperature, the plate temperature is displayed by using the preheating display means 11 in accordance with the plate temperatureθx. Next, theθx detected by a temperature detecting means 7 and the maximum valueθp1 of the plate temperature during preheating are compared. Ifθp1<=θx, the temperature of theθx is freshly set at theθp1. Ifθp1>θx, whether theθx is lower by more than the prescribed temperature from the maximum temperature of the plate or not is further compared. When the temperature described above is lower than the prescribed by >=5 deg.C, judgment is made that the cooking material is fed onto the cooking plate 2 and the plate temperature display by the preheating display means 11 may be stopped.
