PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a baby carrier which enables a user to safely and comfortably carry an infant in her arms even in an either confronting or forward direction and further enables the user to hold the infant her side or back. SOLUTION: This baby carrier with a pad has a carrier body which has at least a back rest part 11 and is capable of housing and holding the infant in either state of the confronting carrying by applying the back rest part 11 to the back of the infant and the forward facing carrying to hold the infant by applying the back rest part 11 to the chest and abdomen of the infant and shoulder straps 30 and 30 which are mounted at the carrier body and are put on the right and left shoulders. Further, the baby carrier has the pad 40 which is freely attachably and detachably mounted on the inner side of the carrier body and covers the back rest part 11 and of which both lower sides are forme broader than the position corresponding to the crotch pad in the forward facing carrying of the back rest part 11.
