PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject crystal capable of being formed in shapes such as a rod-like shape, a needle-like shape and a filament-like shape and also capable of being oriented in a magnetic field by dissolving, emulsifying or suspending both of a metal aliphatic carboxylate and a hydrocarbon is water to associate and crystallize them. SOLUTION: Both of (A) a metal aliphatic carboxylate (e.g. sodium laurate, sodium tridecanoate, etc.), and (B) a hydrocarbon (e.g. n-pentane, n-hexane, etc.), are dissolved, emulsified or suspended in water in such a way as to be associated and crystallized. Crystals are preferably in a state of magnetic field orientation. The molar ratio of the component A to the component B is preferably (1/10) to (1/1,000) and more preferably (1/50) to (1-200). The molar ratio of the component A to water is preferably (1/500) to (1/50,000) and more preferably (1/2,000) to (1/25,000).
