PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new physiologically active substance consisting of a G protein- conjugated type receptor protein having an amino acid sequence either identical with a specific amino acid sequence or substantially identical with the corresponding amino acid sequence with the N-terminal bearing a glutamine residue or the like, and useful for e.g. developing regulators for central nervous function, circulatory function, cardiac function, etc. SOLUTION: This new physiologically active substance is a new G protein-conjugated type receptor protein consisting of a polypeptide (amide, ester, salt) containing an amino acid sequence either identical with an amino acid sequence of the formula or substantially identical with the corresponding amino acid sequence with the N- terminal bearing a glutamine residue or pyroglutamic acid residue. This new substance is useful for e.g. developing medicaments including regulators for central nervous function, circulatory function, cardiac function, renal function, urologic function and sensory function. The above polypeptide is obtained by the following procedure: using human brain-derived poly(A)+RNA as template, a cDNA is synthesized, and then cloned by PCR technique using a primer for synthesizing a partial sequence, the resultant gene is integrated into a vector and then expressed in host cells. |
