PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at curtailed oscillation, improved stability of operation, and reduction in size outboard motor as a whole, by shifting center of gravity forward. SOLUTION: With this outboard motor, crankshaft 4 is arranged almost vertically inside an engine 3, and rotational power of the crankshaft 4 is transmitted to propulsion system through drive shaft 10. In this case, the axis core of crankshaft 4 and drive shaft 10 is arranged either above the axis line 31, in plan view, of cylinder comprising engine, or above center line of engine 3 extending from front to back of outboard motor through axis core of crankshaft 4, and at the same time, axis core of drive shaft 10 is offset toward rear of motor from axis core of crankshaft 4. |
