PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject improving agent which has an excellent effect to improving dark circles around eyes and is useful for creams, milky lotions, skin lotions, foundations, packs, bath liquids, and so on by compounding a specific plant extract. SOLUTION: This agent for improving dark circles around eyes contains the extract of Citrus junos Siebold. The extract is preferably compounded in an amount of 0.001 to 10 wt.%, especially 0.01 to 5 wt.%, based on the total amount of ingredients in the improving agent. The extract can be obtained by pickling the fruits of Citrus junos Siebold in an extracting solvent to extract the fruits at room temperature or under heating, and then filtering off the fruits. The obtained extract may be used as such or, if necessary, after decolored or deodorized by a conventional method. Lower alcohols, liquid polyhydric alcohols, organic solvents and so on may singly or combinedly be used as a solvent for the extraction. The improving agent may further suitably be compounded with an oil agent, a pigment, a perfume, an antiseptic, and so on within a range not spoiling the purpose of the present invention.
