PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a green sheet for an electronic part substrate scarcely causing a change with time and having a smooth surface even after storage for a long period by composing a glass powder of a borosilicate glass and providing the glass particle with a specific particle size distribution and adsorption amount of a lower alcohol on the glass particle surface with a specific ratio. SOLUTION: This glass powder has <=10μm 50% particle diameter D50 and 0.2-2.0 wt.% adsorption amount of a lower alcohol. Since the lower alcohol adsorbed on the surface of the glass particle prevents moisture in air from being adsorbed, a rise in the amount of the deposited boric acid due to a change with time and a rise in moisture content are scarcely exhibited. The lower alcohol adsorbed on the surface incorporates the boric acid depositing at the time of pulverization as a volatile boric acid ester. When a green sheet is prepared by using the glass powder, the deposited boric acid is mostly volatilized as the boric acid ester in a slurry drying step and scarcely contained in the green sheet. Thereby, a phenomenon of depositing the boric acid crystal on the surface is scarcely caused and the storage period can remarkably be prolonged.
