PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bend by detecting a bending angle in high precision when both side bending angles are different for a die center. SOLUTION: A punch P is stroked by a prescribed D value from a position where a work W is clamped with the punch P and a die D, a pair of contact pieces 27L, 27R arranged movable in a direction orthogonal to the stroke direction are brought into contact with the work W, when a bending angle of the work W is not symmetrical for the center of the punch P and the die D, by moving the contact pieces 27L, 27R, the work W is abutted on the both contact pieces 27L, 27R, the punch P is stroked from this position by a required moving quantity (stroke quantity), by detecting the moving quantity in the direction opposite to the die direction of the stroke direction of a longitudinal slide, in which the lateral slide is movably arranged, with a detection means 15, the actual moving quantity of the punch P is obtained, an arithmetic part 3 calculates the bending angle of the work W.
