PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending method capable of obtaining a desired bending angle at an arbitrary bending speed and a bending machine. SOLUTION: After a trial bending is performed at various working conditions and bending speeds beforehand, the normal bending is performed, a required D value correction quantity is obtained in the case the trial bending speed and the normal bending speed are different and is stored in a memory 31 as a data base or a formula. In the normal bending, the reference D value as reference is obtained by performing the trial bending, based on the trial bending speed and the inputted normal bending speed, an arithmetic part 33 obtains the D value correction quantity from the data base or the formula stored in the memory 31, a D value correction part corrects the reference D value by the D value correction quantity, the bending is performed.
