PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frameless tatami mat capable of being easily bent in the direction orthogonal to rushes even in tatami facing using imitation rushes. SOLUTION: The tatami mat using tatami facing 2 manufactured by weaving imitation rushes, in which tatami facing 2 is folded back, crossing with rushes at right angles and thickness is reduced extending over the whole of a section brought into contact with the side section of a flooring 3 in a folded-back section, and the tatami mat using the tatami facing 2 manufactured by weaving the imitation rushes in which thickness is decreased extending over the whole of an end section from the folded-back section, crossing with the rushes at the end section of the tatami-floor surface at right angles in the tatami facing 2 and a groove is formed on the rear side of a position corresponding to the thickness of a floor are used.
