PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove effectively plaques sticking to the surface of teeth, slight dirt such as food remnant and even deposited stains by impregnating a fiber aggregate made up of a hydrophilic fiber and a hydrophobic fiber with an aqueous liquid composition containing a specified quantity of ethanol and polyhydric alcohol. SOLUTION: This scraping and wiping material is formed by impregnating a fiber aggregate made up of a hydrophilic fiber and a hydrophobic fiber with an aqueous liquid composition containing 1 to 30 wt.% ethanol and 1 to 15 wt.% polyhydric alcohol and setting the weight ratio between the liquid composition and the fiber aggregate at 1.0:1.0 to 3.0:1.0. The mixing ratio of the hydrophilic fiber and the hydrophobic fiber in the fiber aggregate is set at 20/80 to 65/35. For the polyhydric alcohol used, glycerin, propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol or the like can be cited, and the liquid composition is mixed preferably with a surfactant such as an anion surfactant, nonionic surfactant or the like.
